Fasting for Self Mastery
For many Muslims, the fast of the month of Ramadan is merely an exercise in communal solidarity and the ful llment of a ritual. Some are aware of the many health bene ts now being highlighted by non-Muslims as well. Join us as Zaytuna Faculty member Ustadh Abdullah Ali highlights that fasting is a spiritual practice whose chief goal is to help the believer achieve self mastery, not only over ones body but also it is the foundation for comprehensive self-discipline, especially when combined with regular charity and the tahajjud prayer.
