There has recently been a recurrence of a group of scammers who specialize in panhandling around the Masjid and other Masajid. It is vital that we are all aware of this fact and that they are (at least some of them) wanted by police. The next time someone approaches you or several people regarding cash donation, please refer them to someone in charge and do not give them any money. The masjid already has an established system for people who need money and they have already been told multiple times and offered this service. Unfortunately, these people continue to carry out their scam. Please be aware of this fact and tell people who may not be aware of it. Although this may change, the current and most frequent known member of this group is an elderly lady possibly of East European descent. She often approaches cars and people with a sign in english to the effect of that she needs money for something. Again, the Masjid Association has already offered her services and aid, but she prefers to panhandle. This is not legal. Please be alert and together InshaAllah we can insure that illegal activity is not encouraged at the Masjid.
